This page covers getdogtor.com and the Dogtor app. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email nik@getdogtor.com and you will get a straight answer from a person.
Who is responsible
Dogtor is run by Nik in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is an independent product, not affiliated with any veterinary practice, pharmaceutical company or pet food brand. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy LLC, which acts as merchant of record: they are the seller on your receipt, they take the payment and they handle VAT.
What this website collects
There is no account and no form on this site. What is collected is measurement, so that money spent on advertising can be judged:
- Google Analytics 4 sets a
_gacookie to count visits and see which pages people read. - The Meta pixel sets
_fbpand stores_fbcif you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram ad, so a purchase can be traced back to the ad that paid for it. - Vercel, which hosts the site, keeps ordinary server logs including IP addresses, for security and diagnostics.
These cookies are set when the page loads. You can block them with your browser's settings or a content blocker and nothing on the site stops working. You can also limit what Meta does with ad data in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
What checkout collects
Payment runs inside a Lemon Squeezy window. Your card details go to them and never touch this site. They pass on your email address, name, billing country and order details so that a receipt, a licence key and a download link can reach you.
When an order completes, the order is reported once more from a server to Meta and to Google Analytics, so that a purchase blocked in the browser is still counted. That report carries your email address hashed, meaning turned into an irreversible string, never the address itself.
What the app collects
What you log about your dog stays on your phone. It is not uploaded, not backed up to us and not readable by us. It leaves your phone only at the moment you choose to share a report and then it goes where you send it.
Who your data is shared with
- Lemon Squeezy, for payment, invoicing and licence keys.
- Meta and Google, for advertising measurement, as described above.
- Vercel, for hosting.
Nothing is sold and nothing is handed to anyone else.
How long it is kept
Order records are kept as long as tax law requires, which in the EU is generally ten years. Analytics data is kept on the retention schedule set in Google Analytics, currently fourteen months. Emails you send are kept until they are no longer useful to keep.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or the UK you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being used for advertising measurement or ask for it to be sent elsewhere. Email nik@getdogtor.com and it will be done, without you having to explain why. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority; in Slovenia that is the Information Commissioner.
Children
Dogtor is not directed at anyone under 16 and is not designed to collect anything about children.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it and anyone who has bought founding access is told by email.
